Exquisite draping and intricate work with volumes - these qualities are shared by all dresses tailored by Kehan Yeng, the up and coming founder of ⁠YANGKEHAN. Her work examines femininity through references to East Asian history and architecture. In her recent collection she studies the Chinese port city of Hui’an translating its various patterns and colours both directly into her fabric surfaces, as well using them as her inspiration.

Each garment joyfully plays around with the pockets, a traditionally lacking part of women’s dresses, treating their volume as a part of the overall construction, rather than a secondary detail. The printed fabrics derive from the architectural motifs: mosaic structures and facades, as well as natural sources such as plants and flowers
